#8sunday #SEXYSNIPPETS
Sunday snippet from a current work in progress.
Here is an unedited peek from Bought…
Killian sank to his haunches and traced Daniel’s name in the marble stone.
She averted her gaze. Looked all the way across the cemetery searching for some kind of sign. For hope. Better yet, reanimation.
Nothing.
There was only more of the oppressive silence. A thick suffocating quiet haunted by ghosts.
She looked back at Killian. His touch lingered on the letters one last time and then he slowly rose to stand and look at her.
Last night’s argument hung in the dead air between them.
“I just want things back the way they were,” she whispered.
“There’s no bringing back from the dead, Scar.”
This is so though. I wonder what they were arguing about and I know what she means. She wants him back to normal, somehow, but I think that will take time. It’s so sad.

This is heartbreaking, Nicolette. I don’t know these people but I sympathize with their loss and sense of helplessness.
(The image is perfect!)

There is an incredible finality about that last line I get the feeling much more that one meaning is offered.

Loving your word choices. “Haunches”, is a very under-utilized word. It imparts a feral quality to the emotions being evoked.
